Directly Elected Mayor of Croydon Jason Perry has today launched his manifesto for the 2026 Mayoral election, setting out a clear plan to build on the borough’s recovery and deliver visible improvements for residents over the next four years.

The manifesto, titled “Lots done. Lots more to do.”, focuses on continuing the work to stabilise the Council’s finances, restore pride in Croydon’s neighbourhoods, and drive forward regeneration across the borough.

It sets out a programme centred on cleaner and safer streets, a thriving town centre, support for local high streets, better roads, improved housing, and stronger services for families and young people.

Launching the manifesto, Mayor Jason Perry said:

“Four years ago, Croydon was in serious trouble. The Council had lost control of its finances, confidence had collapsed, and residents were paying the price.

“Since then, we have taken the difficult decisions needed to stabilise the Council, restore proper governance, and begin rebuilding pride in our borough.

“There is still more to do, but Croydon is no longer in that position. We are moving forward again.

“This manifesto is about turning that recovery into real, visible progress that people can see and feel in their daily lives.

“The choice at this election is simple: continue that progress, or risk going backwards. I am determined that we keep Croydon on track and finish the job.”

Key priorities for the next four years include:

  • Cleaner, safer Croydon - maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to fly-tipping, antisocial behaviour and crime, with continued investment in enforcement and neighbourhood services
  • A thriving town centre - driving forward the regeneration of the Whitgift and Centrale shopping centres, supporting new shops and leisure, and creating a destination Croydon residents can be proud of
  • Backing local high streets - supporting independent businesses, improving shopfronts and boosting footfall across district centres
  • Better roads and fairer parking - tackling potholes, maintaining free short-stay parking, and standing up for motorists and local businesses
  • Homes people can be proud of - continuing regeneration schemes such as Regina Road and improving housing standards across the borough
  • Supporting families and young people - strengthening local services and expanding opportunities for young people to succeed
  • Restoring pride in Croydon - investing in parks, green spaces and community events across the borough

The manifesto also reinforces Mayor Perry’s commitment to responsible financial management, with a continued focus on living within the borough’s means and avoiding risky spending.

Mayor Jason Perry added:

“Running a council of this scale is about competence, experience and steady leadership. It is about delivering the basics well and making sure residents feel the difference.

“We have made real progress, but we cannot afford to lose momentum now. The next four years are about building on what we have achieved and delivering for every part of Croydon.”
