Jason Perry is a Croydonian, born and bred. He grew up on a Council estate in Hamsey Green, spent much of his youth in Thornton Heath and Crystal Palace visiting friends and family, and his first job was working in a warehouse in South Norwood.
His parents built a small family business on Beddington Lane more than 30 years ago. Today, Jason runs that same business himself, employing local people and serving the community. He lives in South Croydon with his wife and their two children.
Croydon has shaped Jason’s entire life. It is the place that gave him opportunities, friendships, community and a future. That is why he felt so strongly about stepping forward to become Croydon’s first directly elected Executive Mayor when the borough faced financial collapse, declining services and a crisis of confidence.
When Jason was elected in 2022, Croydon Council had been bankrupted multiple times by Labour. Debt was spiralling, governance had broken down and trust in the Council had collapsed.
Since then, Jason has focused relentlessly on stabilising the Council’s finances, rebuilding discipline and governance, improving services and restoring pride in Croydon.
Under his leadership, the Council has begun turning the borough around. Investment has returned to neighbourhoods, parks and public spaces. Crime and anti-social behaviour have reduced in key areas. Roads, playgrounds and local facilities are being improved. Long-stalled regeneration projects are moving again. Most importantly, Croydon is back on a stable footing.
In May 2026, residents re-elected Jason as Mayor with an increased majority, backing his plan to continue rebuilding the borough and keeping Croydon moving in the right direction.
As Executive Mayor, Jason believes strongly in listening to residents, respecting the distinct character of Croydon’s communities, and ensuring nobody feels ignored or taken for granted.
Jason has the experience, the determination and the passion to continue restoring pride in Croydon and making it once again a borough people can feel proud to call home.
